Two-Factor Authentication and Apple ID Recovery
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) enhances Apple ID security by requiring a password and a verification code sent to your trusted devices. To enable 2FA, go to Settings > [Your Name] > Password & Security on your iPhone/iPad or System Preferences > Apple ID > Password & Security on your Mac. Add your devices as trusted. When logging in, enter your Apple ID, password, and the verification code. If you lack a trusted device, generate a code via Settings > [Your Name] > Password & Security on any logged-in device. If you forget your password, visit iforgot.apple.com, enter your Apple ID, and verify your identity via email, security questions, 2FA, or account recovery. After verification, create a new password and sign in. Using 2FA and recovery keeps your Apple ID secure and accessible.
